The Moulin Rouge

Windmills were set up on the hill of Montmartre, the highest point near the City of Paris. The Moulin Rouge, built in 1885, is the most famous one, immortalised by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec. It became a mucic hall in 1900, owing most of its fame to the French Can-Can, a popular dance of the 20th century.
