Haddon Sundblom     1899-1976

Haddon Hubbard Sundblom grew to over six feet tall and dominated the commercial art scene for decades. Often using himself as the model, Sundblom developed the image of jolly Saint Nick for Coca-Cola. While working for Sundblom's Stevens-Gross advertising agency in Chicago, Gil Elvgren refined his vision of wholesome, sexy young women, enjoying the simple pleasure of a refreshing Coke.
