In the early 1950s, Jerry Thompson was hired by Earl Mac Pherson as assistant, and they worked together in California. He did not only worked in Mac's sketchbook style, although eschewing pastels for oil, he used photo reference of Mintahoia D'Roney and other Mac Pherson models.
