Agostino Carracci   (1557-1602)

 

Together with his brothers Annibale and Ludovico, Agostino was one of Bologna's leading artists of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

He was important mainly as a teacher and engraver. His systematic anatomical studies were engraved after his death and were used for nearly two centuries as teaching aids.

Such as the 'postures érotiques' from Jacques Joseph Coiny (1761-1809) - printed 1798 in Paris, France
